Welcome to my personal website. I'm Wang Linling, an explorer in the field of communication studies. During my undergraduate years, I participated in research on the social impact of online films and fan culture surrounding virtual idols. I also gained valuable practical experience as an event planning intern for the YesGO project at Beichen Youth. Courage and enthusiasm for exploring new things are my greatest assets, which is why I have a wide range of interests, particularly in stage plays and movies. I look forward to connecting and exchanging ideas with everyone.

ABOUT MY RESEARCH

FEMINISM? MEDIA CULTURE?

In fact, I am still exploring my research interests. During my undergraduate studies, I made some attempts in areas such as virtual idols and the cultural and economic impact of film and television companies, focusing primarily on fan economy, idol economy, media management, the influence of new technologies on fan economy, and media culture. My work has involved both theoretical explanations and structural analyses of these phenomena. Additionally, I have a strong interest in feminism, media culture, and the history of communication. I hope to build upon my previous research experience and further deepen my studies in these fields.

  1. Virtual YouTuber - In recent years, with the advancement of live streaming technology, voice processing, and motion capture, virtual streamers have emerged as a groundbreaking phenomenon, showcasing remarkable potential. Powered by cutting-edge technology, virtual streamers can accurately capture human expressions and movements, rendering them in a lifelike and natural manner. No longer cold and mechanical, they possess a dynamic and expressive presence, making them beloved new-generation idols among many in Gen Z. Read it now!
  2. The cultural impact of film and television companies - For a long time, evaluations of the cultural industry and cultural products have been overly focused on economic benefits. For instance, the assessment of film and television works has relied excessively on behavioral indicators such as box office revenue, viewership ratings, and click-through rates, while the construction of attitudinal indicators remains fragmented and lacks a systematic framework. As a result, the need for a scientific and comprehensive evaluation of the social benefits of film and television products has become an urgent issue of our time. Try it now!
